How to Troubleshooting Centro Message Queue: New Flow Tracking Fields

Overview

Centro has enhanced the Message Queue to make it easier to troubleshoot messages sent from Salesforce Flow to Slack or Microsoft Teams.

The Centro Message Queue creates a record each time a message is sent through a Centro Send Notification Flow element. With this update, three new fields provide additional context about where a message originated, helping you identify the source of an issue and navigate directly to the relevant Salesforce Flow.

Important: To populate these new fields for existing flows, you must re-save and reactivate the flows that use Centro Send Notification elements.

What's New?

Three new fields are available on Message Queue records:

  • Link to Flow: Displays the Salesforce Flow name and the specific Flow element that generated the message. Use this field to identify the source of a message and troubleshoot issues more efficiently.

  • Form Label: Provides the form label associated with the message, when applicable.

  • Origin: Displays the origin of the Flow or its URL, providing additional context about where the message originated.

The Link to Flow field is particularly useful when troubleshooting messages that fail to send or do not behave as expected.

Step 1: Add the New Fields to Your Message Queue List View

To make the new troubleshooting information easy to access, add the new fields to your Salesforce Message Queue list view.

  1. Navigate to the Centro Message Queue in Salesforce.

  2. Open the list view you use to monitor or troubleshoot messages.

  3. Click the gear icon and select Select Fields to Display (the label may vary depending on your Salesforce interface).

  4. Add the following fields to the displayed columns:

    • Link to Flow

    • Form Label

    • Origin

  5. Arrange the columns in your preferred order.

  6. Click Save.

You can now see the additional troubleshooting information directly in your Message Queue list view without opening each record individually.

Step 2: Update Existing Salesforce Flows

Flows created before this enhancement was released must be updated to capture the new information.

For each existing Flow that uses a Centro Send Notification element:

  1. Navigate to Setup → Flows in Salesforce.

  2. Open the Flow you want to update.

  3. Locate each Centro Send Notification element in the Flow.

  4. Open each element and make a minor change, such as updating a field and then restoring its original value if necessary. The goal is to ensure the element is re-saved.

  5. Repeat this process for every Send Notification element in the Flow.

  6. Click Save As and save the updated Flow as appropriate for your deployment process.

  7. Activate the updated Flow so the changes take effect.

Repeat these steps for all existing Flows that send messages to Slack or Microsoft Teams through Centro Send Notification elements.

Note: Make sure every Send Notification element is updated, not just the first one in the Flow. Follow your organization's normal change-management process when saving and activating production Flows.

Step 3: Verify the New Fields

After updating and activating your Flows:

  1. Trigger a Flow that sends a message to Slack or Microsoft Teams.

  2. Navigate to the Centro Message Queue.

  3. Locate the new Message Queue record created by the Flow.

  4. Review the new fields:

    • Link to Flow should identify the Flow and the element that generated the message.

    • Form Label should display the applicable form label, when available.

    • Origin should provide the Flow origin or URL.

  5. Confirm that the fields are visible in your list view.

New messages generated by updated Flows should now include the additional troubleshooting information.

Troubleshooting Tips

The Link to Flow field is blank.

  • Confirm that the Flow was created or updated to support the new fields.

  • For an existing Flow, verify that every Centro Send Notification element was re-saved.

  • Confirm that the updated Flow was saved and activated.

  • Generate a new message to test the updated configuration.

I updated the Flow, but the fields are still blank on older Message Queue records.

  • The new information is captured as messages are processed by updated Flow elements. Previously created Message Queue records may not contain this information. Test with a newly generated message.

I can't see the new fields in my Message Queue list view.

  • Edit the list view and add Link to Flow, Form Label, and Origin to the displayed columns.

  • If a field is unavailable, verify its availability and your access permissions in Salesforce.

Summary

These enhancements make it easier to trace Centro messages back to the Salesforce Flow and element that generated them. For the best troubleshooting experience, add all three new fields to your Message Queue list view and re-save and reactivate existing Flows that use Centro Send Notification elements.
