How to Log an Activity from Microsoft Teams to Salesforce Using Centro
This guide walks you through creating a form in Microsoft Teams that allows users to log Salesforce Activities (Tasks) directly—without leaving Teams. This functionality is powered by the Centro app and its Centro Forms feature.
✅ Prerequisites
Centro app installed in Microsoft Teams
Centro connected to your Salesforce org
Appropriate Salesforce permissions depending on whether you use Automation User or Connected User mode
📝 Step 1: Open Centro in Microsoft Teams
In Microsoft Teams, navigate to the Centro app.
Select the Home tab.
Locate the Centro Forms button — this is where you'll build forms that submit data to Salesforce.
🆕 Step 2: Create a New Form
Click New Form.
Choose how the form should behave:
Connected User – uses the logged-in user’s Salesforce permissions
Automation User – uses the org’s default API/automation user
Enter a Form Name (e.g.,
Create Task).Optionally, add a friendly Label for users.
📌 Step 3: Select the Salesforce Object and Fields
In the Salesforce Object field, search for and select Task.
Click Connect.
Select the fields you want users to complete (e.g., Description, Due Date, Related To ID).
Customize fields using the pencil icon:
Rename field labels
Mark fields Required
If you want to set any default values, enter them in the field (e.g., set Status = Completed).
To hide fields from users (but still submit them), drag them into the Hidden section.
💾 Step 4: Save the Form
Once your field layout and defaults are set, click Save.
You can return and edit the form at any time.
🔗 Step 5: Link the Form to the “Log Activity” Message Shortcut
Go to Workflow Setup in Centro.
Select Link Activity Message Shortcut.
Choose the form you just created (e.g.,
Create Task).(Optional) Enable firing additional Salesforce Platform Events.
Save your changes.
Once linked, users will be able to click the message shortcut in Teams and complete the form, which will automatically create a Task in Salesforce.
🎉 You’re Done!
Your form is now active and connected to Salesforce. Any user with access can now log activities from Teams—no tab switching required.
