When to Use @Mentions

Use @mentions whenever you want to:

  • Alert a record owner or user directly in Microsoft Teams

  • Notify a specific user related to a Salesforce record (e.g., Opportunity Owner, Case Owner, etc.)

  • Bring attention to updates posted automatically from Salesforce


Syntax for @Mentions

To mention a Microsoft Teams user through Centro, use the following syntax in your message template:

<at>{!VarUserTeamId}|{!frmOwnerName}</at>

Where:

  • {!VarUserTeamId} → The user’s Microsoft Teams ID

  • {!frmOwnerName} → The display name of the user in Teams

When the message is sent, Teams will render the user mention dynamically, so the person is tagged and receives a direct notification in Teams.


Tips & Best Practices

  • Ensure each user has their Microsoft Teams ID stored in Salesforce (Centro can sync this automatically).

  • Use merge fields for names and IDs to keep messages dynamic.
