π Overview of Files and Microsoft Teams with Centro
Centro’s integration between Microsoft Teams and Salesforce now includes powerful file functionality designed to streamline collaboration and keep your Salesforce records up to date directly from Teams.
π§ File Setup in Microsoft Teams
Within the Centro Home tab in Microsoft Teams, you'll find the File Setup section. This allows you to:
Configure Prompts: Enable prompts that guide users to upload files when conversations take place in Teams channels or chats where Centro is active.
Enable Automation Users: Permit automation users (e.g., bots or users without a Salesforce license) to upload files to Salesforce. This is especially useful for cross-functional collaborators who don’t have direct access to Salesforce.
π Uploading Files from Deal Rooms
Centro recognizes when a file is shared in a deal room chat (Teams conversation tied to a specific Salesforce opportunity). When a file is added:
Centro detects the chat’s association with a Salesforce record.
Users are prompted to upload the file to the related Salesforce opportunity.
Once approved, the file is automatically linked to the correct Salesforce record and appears in the Files related list.
This ensures that critical documents shared during team discussions are stored in your system of record.
π Sharing Dashboards and Reports
You can now send Salesforce dashboards and reports directly to Microsoft Teams chats and channels:
Use Centro’s interface to choose what to send.
Include dashboards, reports, and files as attachments within notification messages.
All items appear contextually in the Teams message to support real-time decision-making.
β File Attachments in Notifications
When sending a message from Salesforce to Microsoft Teams using Centro, you’ll now see:
An “Attach File” option allows you to include files relevant to the notification.
Below that, options to attach reports or dashboards—ideal for alerting team members of key updates or data points.
